Local Charter School Receives Wellness Grant

Intown Academy has been awarded a $5,000 grant from the Georgia Department of Public Health and the Governor’s SHAPE initiative.

Department of Public Health Commissioner Brenda Fitzgerald said the monies will help the children learn about living and maintaining a healthy lifestyle.

The K-8 charter school in Fourth Ward plans to use the grant for the school garden and to plan wellness events on campus as well as field trips.
