Atlanta Hawks guard Lou Williams was in Old Fourth Ward to participate in the Atlanta Entertainment Basketball League recently.

The event features NBA stars, college players, celebrities and street ballers going head to head in an old fashioned game of basketball during the summer months.

Williams was on the court as his team went head-to-head against rapper Trinidad James and his team, Gold Gang.

“I got my own team, team LouWillVille. Anything I can do to support the city of Atlanta,” Williams told NotesFromTheUndergroudTV.com. “We’re trying to do something positive in these inner cities. I’m all for it every time.”

Williams added that he and his friends are always playing basketball for fun, so it was only right for them to take the opportunity to get involved in the event.

With Williams recovering from ACL surgery and a bevy of changes to the front office, the Hawks’ guard is ready to begin the season with all new staff, players and equipment.

“I’m excited to get the season started. We’ve got a new coaching staff, new gyms, the team is gonna be brand new. It’s gonna be new and exciting we hope the city comes out and supports us.”

Basketball isn’t the only activity that sparks Williams’s attention. According to Williams, music management will soon be in his future.

“We actually just jump started the label last week, Uptown Sounds,” said Williams. “I have four artists signed to that already. Myself, I’m affiliated with Dreamchaser Records. Uptown, Dreamchasers…we’ve got a lot of things coming.”

The Atlanta Entertainment Basketball League is every Friday, Saturday and Sunday running through July 21. Games begin at 6pm every evening, according to the organization’s website.
